Servants, Sangolqui, Salvations!

During the last week of September, 2016, Gear Up's inaugural ministry team headed to Ecuador to serve at the Ruminahui Fire Department in Sangolqui, Ecuador. With anything new, no matter how much you've witnessed God "pull this thing together," there's a natural wondering--and yes, if you're honest, at times even a bit of a worry--about the "unknowns" in front of you. When Darin and the team left NC and headed to South America, there was definitely some of this occurring. But God had already gone ahead of them and was waiting when they arrived on Ecuadorian soil. His presence never left their side the entire week they served and trained their fellow brothers and sisters in the fire/EMS services.

The team spent 6 days and nights with their international brothers and sisters doing what they set out to do: training, sharing, equipping and connecting. When it was all said and done, 43 fire and EMS personnel had received excellent professional training, but most importantly, heard the message of the Gospel. By the end of the week, 2 men recommitted their lives to Christ and 2 made a profession of faith for the first time.

This is what our great God does. We offer Him our "fish and loaves" and then He does the rest. Through our obedience, His Spirit shows up and equips us to do what we think we cannot do. And when it's all said and done, there is no denying that we witnessed something amazing. A perfect God at work through imperfect men. An exponential increase that only He can accomplish.
